Julie - This Australian's transition autobiography is a
masterpiece of style and content. The best on the web. Don't
miss it.
Lynn Conway - Lynn has a great bio, a life full of
accomplishments, and some very well organized thoughts on the
prevalence of gender difference. Also stealth for many
years, Lynn revealed her past when it became clear that the
significance of her accomplishments was leading curious
reporters to discover the facts for themselves. While here, be
sure to visit the
TS Successes section, a wonderful source of
inspiration to us all.
Sally - Sally is a
friend who I met way back in 1996, when I was just figuring
out what options I had. She maintains a site to help others in
their transitions.
Donna
Rose - A friend who contacted me by e-mail as she was
struggling through her transition. We never met in person
until she made it all the way through and moved to Texas. Her
bio has vivid details on how she was feeling and how others
around her were responding. There are lots of TS bios in print
these days; this one conveys the impact transition has on
one's life better than any other I've read.
Andrea James -
Andrea's TS Road Map is perhaps the best how-to site for MTF
transition on the web. Her focus is on how to attain
stealth mode. She observes that life is much easier if this
can be achieved. Like everyone else, she has lots of
interesting opinions, expressed in non-dogmatic ways.
Becky Allison - Becky's
story of transition is a "couldn't stop reading 'till I was
done" kind of book. She does a wonderful job exploring the
spiritual aspects of transsexualism as a dedicated Christian.
Gillian Wrinkle -
Gillian's blog is one I find entertaining, not so much because
of her trans history, but rather because of her choices after
transition. She found life in Thailand so appealing during a
vacation there that she moved permanently to Pattaya. Her
writings on Thai culture, from her perspective of "farang" or
foreign national, trach us that there are different yet
satisfying ways of being other than what we are used to.
Jennifer Diane Reitz - A
site that explores all aspects of "transsexuality" from a
personal perspective. Jennifer has a persuasive writing
style and isn't timid about sharing her thoughts and opinions.
She lived a mostly "stealth" existence for many years, but
found that revealing her history helped her deal with remnants
of shame.
Anne Lawrence
- Anne has the best clinical presentation on genital surgery
you'll find on the web, with evaluations and pictures for mtf.
She also has some interesting and controversial writings on
the psychological roots of transsexualism. Like the others,
she is not timid with sharing her opinions.
Norrie May-Welby - Norrie has an engaging writing style,
full of insight into the interplay of sex and gender, based on
experience and introspection. Her take on transsexualism is
quite different from most others, so it is definitely worth a
visit for comparison.
B C Holmes
- A transgendered Canadian with some nice writings on gender,
which take issue with extreme positions!
Amy Katsumi Sakurai - a beautifully rendered site by one
who waited to transition, trying to keep it all together, and
finally answered the irresistible call.
Jennifer O'Conner - Jennie transitioned a while back, with
young children, and documented her life experiences
extensively.
Melanie's World
- Everyone interested in what it means to be transgendered
should visit this historic site. Melanie's transition diary is
a classic. She inspired many frightened, closeted transgender
people to renew their search for answers when she created the
first internet based transgender forums on Compuserve and AOL.
Diane Wilson -
Great essays on another personal experience with being
transgendered.
Nicole
Hamilton - Nicki has a great testimonial on her facial
surgery, and the huge effect it has had on living a satisfying
life.
Jill Weiss - A
transgender lawyer and academic writer.
Heather Lamborn - A TS
woman who made a choice and became happy in the process.
Jeniece's Journey
- A person who has overcome many obstacles aside from
transsexualism in finding wholeness in life.
Just Evelyn - A
mother of a transgendered child describes the experience.
Janine
Roberts - Read her story, "The Cowardly Lioness"
